Uda Walawe the new elephant walkway will be open to the public on 29th July, a forest trail leading to a temple with a statue of Lord Ganesh.

A Red Kite was seen
A Red Kite was seen flying over the zoo at 2.45pm today. This species has recently seen a major population increase through the RSPB’s reintroduction programme.

Tigers are major predators of Amur Leopard in the wild: Ricardo’s work is important in the retraining of reintroduced cats to avoid tigers.
Ricardo is exploring
Ricardo is exploring the Amur Leopards’ reactions to tiger faeces to see if training is needed for animals being reintroduced into Amur.
